The Maki Pro from Hello Robotics is a compact desktop robot that is designed to be friendly and approachable to help improve the way people think about robots and technology. One of the ways that Maki does this is through the advanced technology of its animatronic eyes, which offer genuine eye contact during interactions. The MAKI Pro is equipped with an embedded PC, an 8-megapixel camera, and 17 points of articulation. With its ChatGPT powered speech functions, MAKI Pro can participate in natural conversations with users. Maki Pro's appearance and hardware can be customized to fit different applications. Maki Pro stands about 19.5 inches tall and weighs approximately 7.5 pounds. This desktop android is programmed using ROS and Synthiam ARC. Hello Robotics also makes the MAKI edu, a platform for research in fields such as human-robot interaction.
