July 2023 Skywatching Tips

July 1, 2023

Here is what's up for nighttime sky watching in July - Mars and Venus appear close together near sunset in the west at the beginning of the month. Reddish Mars will appear very near the blue-white star Regulus in the constellation Leo on the 9th and 10th of July. Jupiter appears next to the crescent moon on July 11th, with Saturn nearby. July is also the best time to see the Milky Way core from dark sky locations. Learn more from NASA.
