Open Source AI Camera

November 21, 2024

The reCamera is a device that is designed to be a fully programmable, open-source AI camera, offering a modular and customizable platform for various applications. The reCamera is built with modularity in mind, allowing you to easily swap out different sensor boards and interface boards to suit your specific needs. This flexibility makes it ideal for a wide range of projects and applications.

Equipped with a RISC-V SoC, the reCamera delivers one trillion operations per second (one TOPS) of AI performance through a dual-core CPU and an MCU with 8KB SRAM. This high performance enables it to handle complex AI tasks on-device. The reCamera runs on a custom Linux-based open-source buildroot system called reCamera OS. This open-source nature allows developers to customize and program the camera to their specific requirements.

The reCamera supports popular AI frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, making it easy to integrate and utilize advanced AI capabilities. It also includes support for Ultralytics YOLO for target identification and computer vision analysis. The reCamera comes with a built-in web UI for quick setup and easy access to camera APIs. This user-friendly interface simplifies the process of integrating the camera into your projects.
