Smart Health Ring
May 1, 2024
A PPG sensor, or photoplethysmogram sensor, is a type of optical sensor used to measure the volume of blood flowing through your blood vessels. It works by shining a light, usually from LEDs, into the skin and measuring the amount of light that is either absorbed or reflected by the blood. This allows the sensor to detect blood volume changes that occur with each heartbeat.
The Vera Ring is a smart ring that provides 24/7 health status and personalized health recommendations. This smart health ring is equipped with mirror prism red, green and infrared PPG sensors to detect vitals. It also has a skin temperature sensor and a 6-axis accelerometer. The Vera Ring monitors beats per minute, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep stages, blood oxygen saturation, VO2 max, respiratory rate, skin temperature, fertility tracking, and soon to add blood pressure. The Vera Ring battery lasts for up to one week and the portable charger can charge the ring for an additional 30 days.
