Spatial Video Communication

January 19, 2024

Visual communication when working with chatbots or a virtual presence is of high importance. Visuals like avatars can add personality, and make interactions more engaging and enjoyable. If the avatar is poorly designed or overly realistic, it might trigger the uncanny valley effect, making users feel uneasy or distrustful. The goal is to create an avatar that is clear, relevant, and user-friendly, without being overly distracting or impersonal.

Wehead is a communication device in the form of a human head. Its three-dimensional shape, appearing with a guest or chatbot face projection, moves around in sync with the sender's head movements (up and down and side to side). With the natural head movement, and the directional video and audio, Wehead can help create better communication than video or phone meetings. The Wehead is equipped with four 1440 pixel AMOLED displays, 10MP camera, 10 watt speaker, and directional shotgun microphone.
