DNA Playground
January 03, 2017
Amino Labs is a lab-in-a-box used to learn how DNA can be used to program living things.
This product is not going to create the bio-apocalypse, it's for learning about DNA and increasing the acceptance of its modification by humans. But, where is this anyone-can-do-it citizen science technology headed? What's next, a cold fusion magnet set?
Let's face it, some people should not be allowed to mix paints, but soon enough, technology will allow anyone with enough money to create new forms of life. That's scary to me. I'm not so much concerned about the garage bio-hackers, as I am about corporations and governments trying to leap frog each other.
