Color FDM Printer

February 26, 2024

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology, is a popular method in 3D printing that involves the melting and extrusion of thermoplastic filaments to construct objects layer by layer. FDM technology is best known for its versatility in materials, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for both professional and hobbyist applications.

The Phrozen Arco FDM 3D printer features an 11.8 x 11.8 x 11.8 inch (300*300*300 mm³) build area and 23.6 inch/s (600 mm/s) print speed. The Arco FDM printer uses DEP (Direct Extrusion Path) technology to minimize the distance between the extrusion gears and the hot end, this allows for faster printing speeds.

Currently, the Arco FDM 3D printer can print with up to four colors, with capability of up to 16 colors in the future. Other features include: plug and play, 5 inch touchscreen, built-in multiple sensors, auto-refill, auto-leveling, magnetic build plate, and it has an open-source system.
